Saving some cash

I am often asked, how do you get by and spend so little.  it's not a mystery it just requires some forethought,  for instance, trash disposal.  2 of us generate a small amount of trash.  Most of it is from evil mart and the local stores.  So what we do is separate garbage as it accumulates.  Plastic and glass goes back into Evil marts plastic grocery bags, then at the next trip in town it is dropped off in their trash cans, there is also the gas stations, the fast food joints, and the parks. Plus there are other shops that have outdoor trash cans.  The metal stuff is separated from ferrous and aluminum and sold at the scrap yard in town,  it might bring in a couple of bucks a month but at least its not in a landfill.  Also the local scrap yard with take in scrap with the proceeds going to the local food pantry.  So your trash can help those in need or to lazy to do for themselves.   Paper stuff is burned as kindling or made into fire starters.   Paper stuff can be shredded an used as mulch in the raised beds, used in worm beds, or the goats will eat it, if they can sneak around and get to it.  All those box top labels for schools are saved and dropped off so the school gets a bit of assistance.  So look around and you can find other ideas on this trend to save some money or help some organization.

Chipper / Shredders

Those are so cool, just think limb up some trees and in a few minutes you have some nice mulch for whatever use you have,  I have a lot of uses for mulch.   Well yesterday I found one CHEAP!  It is a Lazy Boy, combo mower, vacuum, chipper, and shredder.  and the price for this marvel of technology?  Just 100.00 dollars US.

Here's the thing I got it from a pawn shop.  I'd seen it before and I waited till the end of the month.  Thats the best time to buy from Pawn Shops.  They're needing cash and will generally sell cheap.  So check out pawn shops once in a while you'll hit the jackpot.

So I got it home and in a short while I had 2 heaping wheel barrows of wood chips.  Now it will only chip up to a inch and a half, but stuff that is larger i cut and save to use for biscuit wood.  so nothing goes to waste here.  The leaves the goatie girls eat, so they help out with the disposal.   Seriously nothing goes to waste here.
