Ever want to know how to
get more tomatoes from a tomato plant? Well it is so easy, it takes more
time to write than to do.
First you need a pair of
plants, then once they are planted and growing well, judiciously
prune a couple of suckers from each along. Once clipped from the
plant place them in water with a bit of your favorite rooting
compound, in a few days you will have roots growing from the
cutting's. Once the roots are a couple of inches long, plant the
rooted cutting in a good potting soil either store bought or home
made.
In short order the plant,
which is really a clone will take off growing like gangbusters. You
keep pruning the plants and the start of one or two tomato plants
will net you up to 60-70 plants throughout the growing season all for
the cost of a couple of plants or seeds.
What? You say you have no
money to buy a couple of plants? Well you could probably pinch a
couple of suckers from a plant at the store and take home to root.
If you do pick a good heirloom or open pollinated tomato.
Then you can save seeds
this year to sprout and plant next year and possibly sell seedlings
for some extra cash.
A couple of years ago I
picked up a couple of broken limbs and suckers outside a superstore.
I took them home, done the above. I had 3 types of heirloom plants.
Later I traded rootings, seeds, seedlings for other stuff.
So the cost was zip! So
get out and save your self some cash!
