I am asked often, how do
you live on a 100 bucks a month or less? Well there are several
rather complex mathematical formulas involved. But there is also a
bit of depression Appalachian wisdom that guides it all.
Since most people today
can't do their math without the aid of a calculator, we'll go with
wisdom. You have to have the things you need. Food to eat, fuel for
the car to get to work. And so and so …..
Now there are the things
you want, like satellite TV with 5000 channels, or going out to eat
once or twice daily. Let's not forget trading in your old pick up for
a 100,000.00 diesel rig!
Those are examples and I'm
sure you can come up with more of your own. So to save some bucks
lets look at what we need and don't need. I don't need the TV
system, that saves me about 200 dollars a month. I don't need the
big truck, that saves me about 700 dollars a month. Not eating out
so much leaves another 400-600 dollars in the bank.
Remember Victory gardens?
Well give up the gym membership and plant a small garden. You'll save
about 30 a month from not having the membership and you'll get
exercise from the garden, using all that extra time you have now
since you don't have 5000 brain dead channels to watch.
And for every dollar you
spend in seeds and plants you can get up to 20 bucks back in good
fresh produce, better than anything you can buy at any store.
I'll stop at this and in a
few days I'll continue on with this thread.
